About Triangle
Trigger Point Therapy
The story of our clinic
Our
Story
On August 1, 1989, Triangle Trigger-Point Therapy (TTPT) opened its doors specializing in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (NMT). This was at a time when few knew the word trigger point and when the State of North Carolina had misclassified therapeutic massage as “adult entertainment.” Undeterred, Terrie Bellairs pioneered a small business in Raleigh, NC dedicated to a time-honored art form she knew would greatly benefit others: a deep tissue style of hands-on therapy that is still today one of the greatest tools on earth for relieving soft tissue pain and discomfort. Originally located at the Campus North building on Spring Forest Rd, TTPT continued to grow entirely on the referrals of satisfied clients and local health care practitioners. Amidst generating in its first year more business than it could handle, Terrie was so grateful when two of her own clients became interested in changing professions and being trained with her unique skills. This is how Terrie, Tommie and Rosemary became the first ‘three musketeers” of pain slaying in North Raleigh. Over the next three decades Terrie provided jobs and individual training for more than a dozen other therapists seeking her specific skills and insights before going out on their own.
Our Work Is Our Passion
In 1996, TTPT relocated to the quiet cul-de-sac of professional office condominiums on Wind Chime Court where 95% of its clients still arrive through word-of-mouth. In 2009 to celebrate their first 20 years in business, Terrie expressed her appreciation to hundreds of maintenance/tune up clients, local colleagues, and former staff with an evening of fun, reflection, live music, and fabulous food from Sisters Catering. Also doubling as a fund raiser, many generous guests donated over $10,000.00 to the courageous kids at the North Carolina Children’s hospital. TTPT is an ongoing supporter of organizations such as Christian Ministries, FCA, The American Red Cross, Interact, Disabled American Veterans, The Humane Society, and Operation Smile. Each year, a percentage of all proceeds go to one or more of these amazing organizations.
