Biography
Teri Bellairs
Teri Bellairs, company owner and CEO, was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Huntsville, Alabama graduating from Auburn University in 1986 with a degree in Human Movement Studies. Post graduate work with athletes at Soft Tissue Therapy in Opelika, Alabama led to certification in the St. John Method of neuromuscular massage therapy at the Institute for Natural Health in Largo, Florida in 1987 and in later becoming an international instructor for St. John Seminars after moving to North Carolina in 1988.
Triangle Trigger-Point Therapy begins in 1989
After opening a private practice, Triangle Trigger-Point Therapy, in 1989 at the age of 24, Teri created her own legislative task force, raised $50,000, hired a lobbyist, and spearheaded a movement for the state licensure of massage that lasted 10 years and finally made North Carolina the 21st licensed state in massage and bodywork therapy. Receiving a state meritorious award for her efforts, Teri was appointed by the governor in 1999 to the newly established State Board and served two consecutive terms, 6 years, as a practitioner member and secretary to the Board until 2004.
A Mission
Seriously injured at the age of 15 in an automobile accident which not only left her in chronic pain, but altered her life path and the dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer, Teri has spent her career dedicated to pain patients, neuromuscular therapy and the advancement of massage therapy as a known health care option. A lecturer, teacher, author and highly sought after referral based therapist, she has been invited to share her innovative ideas with local medical pain panels, Roche Labs and Duke University’s ideation workshops, and on medical research teams committed to the long term relief of soft tissue pain.
On the Cutting Edge
Affectionately labeled “the puzzle master” by students and apprentices in her clinic over the years, Teri’s vast knowledge and understanding of the musculoskeletal system and her amazing results with 1000’s of pain patients across the country, eventually led to the worlds first and most complete study of anatomical leg length differences and their role in a wide variety of chronic soft tissue pain and degenerative skeletal patterns (publications to be available in 2006).
